The Goldsmiths’ Company Assay Office has launched a series of video guides to help its customers, inform consumers, and provide information on hallmarking.

The guides use simple explanation with clear subtitles. We believe these will complement our visits, tours, events, and website to further the understanding of assaying and hallmarking.

Easter Holiday 2019 Closing Times

Our Easter holiday 2019 closing times are as follows:

Goldsmiths’ Hall
Thursday 18 April – close at 4pm.  The office will reopen on Tuesday 23 April at 8am.

Greville Street
Thursday 18 April – close at 4pm.  The office will reopen on Tuesday 23 April at 9am.

Price Adjustment 2019

From 1 April 2019, all packets submitted using paper hallnotes will attract an additional charge of 20p per article contained within the packet.  If the packets submitted using an online hallnote, then this additional charge will not be levied and the prices will remain the same as this year.

Karen Receives Long Service Award

Karen Green received her long service award today.  Karen started on 14 March 1988 as a telephonist moving to the General Office, then the assay counter, before becoming Registration Officer.
